Jewelcrafting is our favorite profession in World of Warcraft. We think it is easily the most profitable profession in the entire game. In this article, we will be discussing some great ways you can use Jewelcrafting to make more gold.

1. Level up cheaply by buying green recipes.

One of the easiest ways to make money with Jewelcrafting is to minimize your expenditures. There are a lot of uncommon quality Jewelcrafting recipes you can bu y which make Jewelcrafting a lot easier to level up. By grabbing these recipes, you can significantly cut down on your Jewelcrafting costs and as a result make more money.

2. Sell your daily quest reward.

In WotLK, Jewelcrafters get a very easy daily quest that rewards them with a token. You can then use this token to purchase a Dragon's Eye which sells on the auction house for 100 gold. If you set aside 10 minutes a day to do this quest, you can make 3000 gold per month with little effort!

There is a similar quest in Cataclysm. You can purchase the Chimera's Eye and then sell it on the auction house. Within a few weeks of release, these will be worth 100s of gold a piece. Take advantage of this while the market is hot!

3. Avoid the leveling rush.

When Cataclysm comes out, many players will be trying to level up Jewelcrafting as quickly as possible. The cost for Jewelcrafting materials will be significantly overinflated due to all the players trying to level up the craft.

Furthermore, prices for gems will be very low. It always takes players a few weeks to get enough gold to buy up all the surplus gems. Most players will not gem quest rewards but rather will wait until try get at least instance-level gear.

During this time, you should sell your materials rather than trying to level up Jewelcrafting. Within a few weeks, prices will come down and you will be able to buy Jewelcrafting materials for a lot less gold. By having a little patience, you will end up saving a lot of gold in World of Warcraft.
